One Year!!

Since our 1 year anniversary is tomorrow, we decided to celebrate this weekend. We went down to Iowa for my friend's bridal shower, and then later that day we headed to Charles City to stay at the Sherman House Bed and Breakfast. This is not the same B&B that we stayed at the night of our wedding, but it is in the same town that we got married in. We enjoyed a relaxing evening and morning. The couple that own the B&B are a very nice retired couple. The rooms were amazing, the breakfast delicious, and the owners very friendly. We had a good time and recommend the Sherman House to all.

A Sad Day.

As many of you know, Iowa has sustained a lot of flood damage due to an extremely wet June. We were recently informed that the swinging bridge that we took a few pictures at on our wedding day fell victim to the flood. The bridge could not handle the high waters and was destroyed. The bridge was around 100 years old. The pictures that we have that were taken on the bridge are our favorite ones. Here is a picture of what remains of the bridge.

Our New Blog!

We finally got around to starting our own blog. We are very excited to have finally undertaken this task. Here is the latest news of what has been happening the last few months.

The first weekend in May, I graduated from Crossroads College. It was fun and exciting. It was also great to see many friends and family. Anthony's parents even were able to make the trip down to join in on the festivities. The rest of May went well. We stayed very busy. I finished up my internship and we both searched for summer jobs. I got hired by School Age Child Care. I work with K-5th graders. This summer there is lots of field trips planned, and plenty of things to do when you are staying back at the site with the kids not on the trip. This summer I work with mainly 2nd graders. It is a lot of fun, but can be a little hectic. Anthony recently started at Kids Come 1st. It is a day care center that is probably only a mile from our house. He is a float, so works with all age groups. He recently had his first experience changing a diaper. I'm happy to report that it went well. It's a good job for him to have, as it will give him plenty of experience for the future.
